Two types of validation are possible depending on your licence type.
Revalidation by Experience (NPPL Licence)
Have flown at least 12 hours, including at least 8 hours as pilot in command
Have completed at least 12 take offs and landings
Have flown at least 6 hours in the 12 months preceding the date of signing
Have undertaken at least 1 hour of flight training with an instructor
Notes:
If the current C of E has expired, it cannot be revalidated by experience and must be revalidated by test.
If all requirements have been met, apart from the flight with instructor, the licence can be endorsed ‘single seat only’ (this means flight in single seat aircraft only, not solo flight in other aircraft)
The 1 hour flight training requirement can be met over several flights
